Homeless Shelter (ISSP)
                                            Homeless Shelter (ISSP)
The Interfaith Satellite Shelter Program (ISSP) is hosted by FCC every Friday evening.

Our church is one of those in Santa Cruz County that provides shelter for up to fifteen homeless friends each Friday evening throughout the year.   Accommodations are in the upper room of our Christian Education Building.

We are grateful for our own housing and for the opportunity to meet some of the homeless women for whom hospitality is offered, to listen "with the ear of the heart" to their stories, and to share a meal with them.

The women who are presently homeless and who come to FCC on Friday evenings are all in a program of rehabilitation at the Rebele Shelter.

When one of our FCC 8th graders helped provide a meal, he observed, "You know, they're just like us, except they don't have a home."

During the summer only overnight housing is provided.  During the other seasons of the year, we invite you to share in this ministry with our neighbors by providing a meal for up to fifteen guests.  Arrangements may be made for donated meals to be dropped off in our church kitchen on the day of the ISSP evening.

A signup schedule will be available in our FCC Lounge during coffee hour each Sunday morning.  Volunteers (individuals, families, groups such as Scouts) are needed and welcome to participate in the ISSP.
