know that you are welcome.
First Congregational Church of Santa Cruz is an Open and Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Christ. Our Policy of Inclusiveness states: "We welcome all who seek to walk with God as we have come to recognize in the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, denying no one full participation in the life of this church on the basis of race, ethnic origin, worldly condition, age, gender, sexual orientation, or any other particular element of his or her total humanity.

Celebrating 10 years as an
Open and Affirming Congregation

Gay PRIDE Parade
For a number of years First Congregational Church has participated in the Gay PRIDE Parade and had an informational booth in San Lorenzo Park. This year (2010) we sponsor an information booth and a kid's area with Bounce House and bubbles. Many of our members march in the parade and are excited to share that FCC is an Open and Affirming Church, and that we believe ALL people are made in the diverse image of our Creator!

.
Friends and Family of Gays & Lesbians
An open, confidential and anonymous support group for gay and lesbian persons and those who love them and support them meets monthly. In addition to being a support group, they also look for ways to contribute to the FCC open and affirming promise. Call the church office, 426-2010, for meeting time and place. Time and location vary.
Gay Marriage
Our creator has given each of us the privilege and the gift of falling in love. When an individual finds someone who they wish, and feel called to, share their life with, it is a sacred and holy moment.
We also believe that God has created us to live in community with one another so these blessed times can be celebrated publicly. Love is a gift, and marriage is a calling no government has the right to withhold.
FCC is proud to be a place, a safe space, where two people can share their commitment to one another and feel affirmed for doing so. For more information on Weddings for LGBT persons, please contact the church office
