FCC has a garden in the works!

On Tuesday, December 27, a dozen FCC friends gathered to work the earth, preparing the ground for FCC's very first gardening ministry! Over the coming days and months, you'll watch this vege garden come to life...as we tend the earth, work joyfully together and loving plant veges and good things. You can be part of this! You can learn about the abundance of God's love as you work the wonderful soil of God's earth. To learn more about the project, be in touch with Liz Klotz-Chamberlin or Natalie Blackburn at the church. They'll be delighted to introduce you to this new ministry, an expression of our passion for the earth and stewardship in our time!

How About Jazz?

Provocative, creative, spirited, passionate...jazz feeds the soul in a thousand ways and inspires us to deeper service and compassion. Every Sunday at 11, you'll find a gifted band of local jazz greats--leading worship, going with the spirit, responding to grace. They include vocalist Lori Rivera, pianist Art Alm, bassist Stan Poplin, drummer Zach Olsen, sax player Dayan Kai and cellist Renata Bratt.

We're looking for a new twist on gospel themes: forgiveness and reconciliation; Jesus and extravagant love; grace and justice. Put it all together and you've got a Christian community on fire with spirit. You'll find all that and more--every Sunday at 11!

A Choral Tradition

How would the human heart dance without music and the arts? Where would we find the language we need for praise, for hope, for grief, for connection?

FCC cherishes a long tradition of great choral music--inspired by a gifted Chancel Choir under the inspired leadership of Cheryl Anderson. Working with the very best of our long progressive, Protestant tradition, we join voices in powerful old hymns and evocative contemporary ones. And our choir invest themselves in some of our century's best new work, even as they draw deeply from Mozart, Bach, Mendelssohn and Brahms.

Our traditional choral service begins each Sunday morning at 9:30 am in the beautiful church sanctuary. In music, and in other visual arts, we find inspiration and courage for the lives that wait beyond.
